From its opening in 1990, The Other Brother Darryls’ storefront location has been a proverbial hotbed of activity, especially in the summertime. Quite a bit of fresh, frozen, and smoked fish and seafood passes through our doors. We also carry a very broad line of gourmet and specialty foods – everything to go with your fish, except bread (though we do carry gluten-free bakery items).
On a typical day we’ll offer two or three varieties of salmon for sale – probably our most popular fish, mouthwatering sushi tuna, amazing sea scallops, halibut, Faro Island trout the size of a salmon, anchovies, smelts, sole, haddock, pollack (or “pollock”), tilapia, skate wings, and boneless trout. Of course we always have excellent fresh and frozen shrimp on hand, and an array of superb shellfish, clams, lobster, crab and other seafood.
In addition to our fresh fish and seafood, we offer a menu of pre-cooked delicacies available for take-out. Customers come from far afield for our fried clams (bellies and strips), fish and chips, steamed lobsters, or fried shrimp – to name a few of our specialties.
Our large selection of dried goods and foods includes numerous gourmet rices (saffron, bamboo, Thai, etc.), orzos, quinoa and other natural grains, lentils, peas, chips and salsas, oils and vinegars, dressings, sauces, marinades, a Thai section – and even Gefilte fish from Brooklyn. Give us a call if you want to check if we have something. Even if we don’t we can special-order almost any gourmet food available.
While our store is officially open Wednesday through Saturday, customers “in the know” who need something on a Monday or Tuesday can call us by 9 and pick it up by noon. We’ll do almost anything to keep our regular customers happy and coming back for more.
